Pulled my system down to do some needed maintenence and when I got it back up and tried to log in to WyldRyde i received the message "emc2srv Erroneous Nickname: Reserved for Services. Please choose a different nickname"

I don't mind having to change nicks as I had a backup registered but I lost the privledges I had in a couple channels due to the change, of which were autovoice in #chris and aop in #Tornado_Watch.

The nick I have changed to is Dr_Hobo, which is ok by me but i've become known by some users in the various channels i frequent under my old nick.

I might note this has happened to my nick once before (emc2serv) but i wrote it off to my not being active under it for an extended period of time.

Hey there! Sorry that you were caught in this. However, this is a measure we had to take the other night. All nicks with srv in them had to be removed and forbidden.

I'll be happy to re-voice you in #Chris, as I remember you well as a good user. If you wish to change your nick again to something similar to the old one (without the srv), please feel free to do so. Also, drop me a pm so I can fix you accordingly in #Chris.

You should still be able to group your nickname. Just type /ns group emc2srv password

It will link the nickname you are using to emc2srv that way you wont lose any access that you have on any channels.

Yeah I should have grouped my nicks, never got around to it, my fault for not doing so.

Had my own small IRC server once, so I can understand the reasons behind the removal.
