I dunno where else to put this, since this isn't actually part of the scripting of the chat.

I'm curious if there is a way to have the page with the link to chat say how many users in chat.

For example, with ezBoard, boards with community chat always list the number of users currently in chat next to the "Join Chat" link.

like this:

Join Chat (# people in room)

It seems like it should be possible, I just don't know how.

Its not something that can be done with the existing chat. You'd need a bot that posts the number of users to a mysql database or a text file and then use php or javascript to access that info and put it on the web page.

You don't happen to know of a bot that'll output the number of users to a text file, do you?

I'm searching google now....and I found Denora, which will do MySQL.....but if I can find one that does a text file, it will be so much easier simply because I don't currently have MySQL
