Lately when I have been chatting in #chris or just idling in their, later at night, at least 1, if not more, disturbing users enter #Chris and begin to either harass a user, or talking in caps or flood the channel, repeatedly. I say repeatedly because there is NO ops active to either kick or ban the user. On numerous occasions, I've tried to call ops using the chrisop command, but, nothing has happened. INSTEAD, I've had to go to #help and ask if anyone can deal with the problem, which, doesn't always work. My proposition may sound a little crazy, but, it may work. When the chat starts to calm down a little, a half-op should be issued to TWO voiced users, that are HIGHLY trusted and possibly have been active #Chris for most of the day. This way, if any troll or spammer should enter Chris, they will be taken care of immediately. Obviously, when an oper is active again, the users will return to normal voiced users.

First off thanks for the suggestion. However, it is not one that is possible to do because of the training that a person goes through once promoted as a halfop. Therefore, we cannot simply halfop users (voiced or not).

hmm i like this, i think i was there one day. a bit annoying for others in the chat room

Most of the time there are ops available in the chat room. But if there isn't, then you need to go to #help, the moderators can't do nothing if they don't know what's happening.
