Topic setter's username is appended to topic

When I use "/chanserv topic #channel meh" to set the topic, the topic is set but the username of the person who set the topic is appended to the end of the topic in parentheses.
Is there a way to stop this?

get an actual bot that doesnt do that. join #woz and ask for Woz. He's one of the bots that doesnt do that.

Yea, get a bot like Woz or use mIRC scripts. They don't set the topic with a nick at the end. Also, you have the ability to set the topic / status / static as well as customize the borders "/"

You don't really *need* a bot like woz or any bot to simply do that. Use the fantasy commands of !topic and it will set the topic minus the name of the person. Or if your using a supported client /topic #channel works
