I assigned Elle to my channel, #Eddie.

When I enter in !topic, Elle responds.

However, in #Chris, Elle does not respond, instead wicket handles the command. So I guess my question is, is there a way to disable the Botserv bot from responding to the !topic command?

Thanks in advance.

Chris uses a custom bot to handle topic changes. The !topic implementation in BotServ is very basic, whereas the implementation in wicket allows you to change 3 things: the topic, the status and the static/link text.

Now, if you want to disable !topic from the BotServ bot, you need to disable fantasia. To do this, type:

/botserv set #channel fantasy off

Note: This also disables all other !triggers also.

Wicket is a custom coded IRC bot written in python and other scripting languages. He is very advanced. Not only will he change the topic, sattus, static, but he will also has another job. After setting the topic in #Chrs he goes and writes the topic to an xml file on a web server. That is what you see at the topic of the live stream.

I just finished my bot, Arthur. I kind of stole the naming scheme #Chris uses, Arthur is my dog's name. He can change the topic, my status, and the static text in the topic and also writes the information to my web server, where http://live.eddieringle.com uses it. (Topic heading, status on the right, and in the meta keywords and such.)

All PHP. smile
