after the HUGE galactica.WyldRyde.org and cyclon.WyldRyde.org netsplits the other day, I noticed that my #iPhone ban list got completely cleared, and some people who were banned from #iPhone came in. I couldn't say they evaded, but I didn't want them there. Why does it do that? Does the ban list automatically clear after a netsplit? I'm a little confused

bans are removed when no one is in a room. Not sure how the netsplit affected that, other than services saw no one in the room

It sometimes happens when a server splits and is restarted and is not quite in sync when it reconnects.

It's always a good idea to keep long term bans in your akick list.

BTW, it's not a good idea to put your email address in your signature as it encourages spam email spiders to crawl our entire site and you'll get more spam too.
