I have to give
WyldRyde it's much deserved thanks for making my life a whole lot easier. I am in the process of setting up an online community centered around tech and game related topics as well as a web host who will put any form of server up for no price at all (rare to non existent on the internet right now) without bombarding you with adds and false domain names.
I had worked all day to finish the webpage update the forums mess with the blog all of which are fully hosted by me. After much time and effort all seemed to be going well. There was only one problem, no method for people to chat outside of ventrilo especially while viewing the live stream. This put the website on hold and kept me up till 6:00 Am in the morning trying to find an affordable chat server I could host.
I searched for hours and even resorted to trying to compile the source code for an ircd server which proved to be all but possible. I was looking to host a server myself because that's what I do however I didn't have the $2000 to drop on a 20 meg peace of software that costs more then a handful of operating systems and went looking for free chat applets or rooms that other people hosted.
This proved to be even more annoying, what actually worked bombarded the users with banner adds or shortened messages to a couple of lines and believe me that can become annoying fast.
By 6 am I was at the end of my rope and felt like repeatingly slamming my head into the nearest solid object when I remembered the chat room used in the chris pirillo show. It seemed to work perfectly and I figured must cost something.
I was shocked when I came to this site at how simple it was and better yet free with little to no limitations that I have seen on the users chatting. Loged on mirc made a name and channel, came back to the site, got the room code, and crossed my fingers as I exited the html editor.
I nearly leaped from my seat when I saw the room worked perfectly fit perfectly in my website and had all the necessary admin commands.
For this I couldn't thank you enough. Keep up the good work on providing a free service that does not suck.
