Sorry for the delayed question, but what kind of role does Chris have in making decisions for voiced users? Again sorry for the delay.

Chris actually stays out of the day-to-day running of the chat room. That is what the Admin Board is for. So to answer you, Chris plays no part in voicing people.

Before I officially agree to this "new" set of rules I have a few questions/reservations about them:

1. Seeing as how I have been a voiced user in #chris for I believe over 6 months, I would have figured my actions over this time span have shown that I am a competent person who understands what to do and not to do in the chat. It has always been my view that actions are better than words.
2. It seems that number 2 and 4 contradict one another. First I am told it is acceptable for me to warn other users (non-voiced) not to use caps, etc. then I am told when a staff member is around not to do it. From experience it seems that at least one member of the op team is around most, if not all of the time.
3. Chris Pirillo is not listed on the Moderation Board. I assume this is because it is obvious that Chris has a say in the chat, and more than likely the final say in what happens pertaining to the chat (seeing as how it is his after all)
4. The requirement to NOT talk about lag, could cause some problems, as I have had a good discussion in the chat before about what online streaming site I enjoy the most, and I have bought into account the point that ustream does have a lag problem at times. So is "laggy" or "lagging" on the botserv badwords list? or is it something the OPs/HOPs of the channel are told to kick for? I also ask because I may also say lag in context not related to ustream

I may have more after I read it more but for now wondering about these

I will answer your questions as best I can.

1. Yes, they are. HOwever, we want to make SURE that everyone is aware of the same rules. By asking you all to read and respond, we know that everyone is on the same page. Also, by asking EVERYONE to do it, we are being fair, and not singling anyone out.

2. There are many times when an op isn't paying attention. It is fine for all of you to be able to say things like "Please don't use caps" and whatnot... at any time. Just never try to overrule an op or hop.

3. Actually, Chris is NOT part of the Admin board, nor is he really involved in the running of the channel. He does not have the time to devote to it, nor does he interact and "know" you guys the way we do. Any and all issues/questions can be brought to the Admin board. If there is something that Chris does need to be made aware of or make a choice on, I will get with him via IM, as usual.

4. The lag thing is simple: If we are slow/laggy during a video... we simply ask that 120421-0347 people not point it out! We know ustream makes us lag. We cannot fix that. Pointing it out simply ticks Chris off, and makes him re-record the video.

Does that help?

ah, ok thanks for clearing those things up. While its kinda saddening to see chris not more active I can see the reasoning behind it. I agree to the rules, won't be much of a change. Just out of curiousity, might I ask what prompted this sudden agreement, kinda caught me off guard to have people telling me I needed to agree to this (have pixie ignored due to the bot spam everytime someone asked what size are those monitors :p)

Anyway I agree

I understand most of these rules. But I do think at times some of the operators in there need to be a bit more understanding with voice users. ( there have been times where I posted inappropriate things of flooded during a video. ) But I wont discuss that here. Just saying some of the operator need to be a bit more understanding. Someone like me has A.D.D and when I flood the chatroom by mistake I don't see a reason to be kicked for it. "Nobody is perfect." Anyways I agree and will try my best to follow these rules.
