All new Voiced users in #Chris must register for the forums, and reply to this thread, stating you have read and understood the following. Failure to do so within 3 days of becoming voiced will result in losing your voice privileges. ALSO: All currently voiced users must respond, as well! Thanks!Becoming a voiced user in #Chris is a privilege, not a guaranteed right. This status can be revoked at any time!
When you the user achieves this status, it shows to us you can behave in a manner conducive to the environment. This status will allow users to speak during times of channel moderation (mode +m). Having voice allows you to chat during video recording.
*You are not permitted to flood!
*Repeating ones self over and over is prohibited!
*Treat others with respect!
*It is prohibited to use foul language or words considered (censored)!
Any user who violates his or her status during a recorded video will be immediately de-voiced. We will NOT tolerate rule-breaking during videos.
So here are some guidelines to follow:
1. Try to keep the conversation on topic! We all know that no topic stays 'current' for long, due to the amount of chatters in the channel.
However, if we are recording videos, we are to STAY on topic. If others go off onto a different subject, try to guide it back by continuing to talk about the subject at hand. Voiced users who repeatedly go off-topic during recording will be removed from the voiced list.
2. It is acceptable for voiced users to warn non-voiced people about things such as all caps, etc. However, for any other types of rules violations, please step back and allow an Op or Hop to handle things. This would include anyone making obscene comments directed towards others, and anyone attempting to get around the bad-word filters. If an op doesn't see the problem immediately, you can highlight us by typing the word
chrisop in the channel.
Added note: If there is something that requires
WyldRyde Network Op attention (such as bot joins, spammers, hate speech, etc), and none appear to be around, you can say the word
Oper in #Chris. When spammers or trolls come into the channel, do NOT feed into it by commenting to them. Simply ignore them, and don't give them the attention they crave.
**ONLY use the word oper for Network rule violations, NOT channel issues.3. When the ops are active, we ask that you NOT give any kind of warnings. It only clutters up the conversation, and makes it difficult to moderate #Chris. It also makes it more difficult for non-voiced users to figure out exactly who they should be listening to, and prevents confusion as to what the rules are. When too many different people attempt to give out rules and regulations, they become clouded, and hard to tell what is correct.
4. Absolutely DO NOT speak of lagging/frozen stream or lagging/frozen chat AT ANY time, especially during times of channel moderation. i.e. recording. You will be kicked from the chat, and it automatically removes your voice status. The lag is expected from ustream.tv, and may be as much as 10 or 20 seconds. There is unfortunately nothing we can do on our end (Or Chris') to fix this problem. Talking about it in the channel only serves to ruin a recording, making Chris have to redo it.
5. Never threaten another with kicking or banning. It is the decision of the ops as to what action may be taken. If you or anyone else has a copy/paste gone haywire, or somehow accidentally get your voice removed due to a kick, appeal it properly with an Op. If we feel the situation was accidental and not likely to be repeated, we will gladly re-voice you.
6. Always obey the rules in #Chris. Do NOT question authority of an Op or Hop. If there are any doubts as to the "hierarchy" of staff in the channel, you can refer to this:
#Chris Moderation Board - Highest level of "command", and makes all final decisions.

All other full Ops - All full ops other than those listed above are of equal "status", and can overrule any Halfop, voiced user, or non-voiced user if the situation warrants.
All Half Ops - All half ops are of the same "status" as each other, irregardless of how long they've been a halfop. If no full ops are around, the halfops have full authority to make channel decisions. Keep in mind, halfops DO have the authority to kick and/or ban a user as necessary, so please do not go running to a full op to complain.
Voiced Users - All voiced users are of the same "status" as each other, irregardless of how long you've been voiced, or part of the channel.
If at any time you have questions or issues about these rules, or anything else in the channel, please feel free to contact someone from the Moderation Board via a pm or message on the forums. We are always happy to help, and open to suggestions for making the community a better place.
