I'm an op on a channel and have banned a couple of members who are still able to connect to the channel under a different name. How do I make the ban an IP ban?

Is it one of these options?

BANTYPE: /msg chanserv set #channel bantype Type
Sets the ban type that will be used by services whenever they need to ban someone from your channel.
Type is a number between 0 and 3 that means:
0: ban in the form *!user@host
1: ban in the form *!*user@host
2: ban in the form *!*@host
3: ban in the form *!*user@*.domain

Anyone? Any way I can set it so that a ban will be an ip ban and not just that username?

Set ban type to
2: ban in the form *!*@host
that will ban them via their host mask, if they are kicked with services.. so a command like /msg chanserv ban #channel NickToBan Reason
would work.
Otherwise, if you tell me what client you are useing, I can tell you what steps to take to ban that way.

Oh, also, incase you are wondering, how the ban modes work,
its Nickname!Ident@Hostname
So, to ban anyone with the nickname Freekie do /mode #channel +b freekie!*@*
banning by a nickname is very easy to get around.

Banning by *!*@fullhostname is much more effective
