does any one know how to add color to your topic if so please let me know how to do it thanks Tim

It depends on the IRC client you are using.

If you are using the web chat you'd type the following in where you chat:
/cs topic #channelnamehere Newtopichere

You'd then have to highlight the letters/words you want a specific color and then click on the color you want them in the color box.

I'm very sorry, I haven't used the colored text in our Web Chat in years and I forgot that it didn't work that way.
