Appeals Introduction

If you were banned (glined, qlined, zlined, or akilled) from WyldRyde or if you are unable to connect to WyldRyde and are directed to this page please carefully read and follow all the instructions below to properly appeal your ban.

WyldRyde Ban Appeal Process:

  1. Read this entire page and follow all these instructions. If you don't follow them exactly there is ZERO CHANCE the ban will be removed early.
  2. ONLY the banned user should post an appeal to our "HELP! I'VE BEEN BANNED FROM WYLDRYDE!" Forum. (Instructions below.)
  3. A WyldRyde Administrator will read the appeal within 48 hours. However, the final decision might take longer.
  4. Depending on the situation the Admin may need to review WyldRyde Staff's Logs, server logs, and/or speak with the staffer that set the ban.
  5. After considering the appeal and all evidence, the Admin will then make the final determination if the ban will be removed early or not. The ruling is made at the sole discretion of the reviewing Admin and his or her ruling is absolute and final.
  6. Once the Admin has come to a ruling if the ban stays or will be removed early, the decision will be posted to the topic. In either case the topic will then be closed. This means it is no longer up for discussion!

How to post an appeal: (Examples below)

  1. Register for our forums and post your appeal to the HELP! I'VE BEEN BANNED FROM WYLDRYDE! Forum.
  2. Don't forget to include your nick, ident, and your IP and hostmask. Your subject of your post should include your nick. You can obtain your IP and hostmask from the gadget on the appeal's forum introduction.
  3. You must include a copy of the message you receive when attempting to connect.
  4. If you know which WyldRyde Staff member banned you please provide their nick.
  5. Please list all channels you were in when this ban was set.
  6. If you know the date, time, and time zone this happened, also provide it.
  7. You must explain why you think you were banned.
  8. You must make a case for why you think we should remove the ban. Be specific. Avoid making promises you won't keep. Show remorse only if you feel it. (If you were never on our server but appear to be banned please explain this.)
PLEASE NOTE:

  • We will not remove channel bans! This forum is only for posting network bans (glines, sqlines, zlines, klines, etc!)
  • DO NOT REPLY TO ANY POST IN OUR "HELP! I'VE BEEN BANNED FROM WYLDRYDE!" FORUM IF YOUR NOT ON WYLDRYDE'S STAFF. The only circumstance where a non-staff member should reply to a topic in this forum, is when the original person filing the appeal is asked for more information by a WyldRyde Staffer.
  • ONLY THE PERSON BANNED MAY POST. Never post a message in support of someone who has been banned. This isn't a popularity contest!
  • If you "reopen" a closed topic (by creating another topic on the same subject) expect to be banned from the forums and have your ban extended.
  • Bans are very rarely removed before their expiration date. To have any chance of having yours removed early you must make a believable case proving you weren't at fault. We stand behind our IRCOps and Admins. Saying, "so and so hates me and thats why I was banned" isn't a legitimate reason for an appeal... WyldRyde is a virtual home to our staff. We have every right to keep people we don't like out of our own home!
  • Do not post about Open Proxies bans, instead read this topic: http://www.wyldryde.org/a/000590.php
  • Auto-pruning is enabled in our Ban Appeal Forum. Posts without activity will be automatically deleted within 7 days, if not sooner.
  • Posting a properly formatted appeal isn't in itself grounds for having a ban removed. Below are merely examples of properly formatted appeals, they are not necessarily examples of appeals that were successful in having a ban removed.
  • Please note that we are unable to help if you have been Klined or Glined on another network. To resolve this issue, you will need to contact the network in question.

I think I was banned around 4:00PM GMT-5 on April 18,2004.
I was trying out a new script and I didn't mean to dcc everyone.
I will never use that script again!

I never used your network before and I don't spam or have any trojans or worms on my computer. Can you please remove the ban so I can connect?

I usually hangout in #chris
I haven't tried to connect to wyldryde for a few weeks since I was on vacation. I just returned yesterday and tried to connect today and I see that I'm banned. Whats going on?
