How do I register my Nick?

Everyone should register their nickname on WyldRyde to prevent others from using it. Once your nick is registered, you can use the SET and ACCESS commands to configure your nick's settings as you like them. Besides its an easy process and is completely free.

To register type the following command in the STATUS screen of your IRC Client:

/msg nickserv register password email

Replace "password" with a unique password that you can remember and "email" with your email address.

About Your Password:
Make sure you remember the password you use when registering - you'll need it to use and make changes to your nick later. (Note that case matters! EPONA, Epona, and epona are all different passwords!)

Guidelines on choosing passwords:
Passwords should not be easily guessable. For example, using your real name as a password is a bad idea. Also, short passwords are vulnerable to trial-and-error searches, so you should choose a password at least 5 characters long. Finally, the space character cannot be used in passwords.

About your email:
Entering a valid email is required and will set the email for your nick immediately. Your privacy is respected; this e-mail won't be given to any third-party. If you don't provide a valid email address we will be unable to reset your password if you should forget it.

DON'T FORGET TO IDENTIFY!!!
Once you have registered you will need to enter you password in the password box on our flash client when logging in or you will have to type the following in the status screen of your IRC Client and hit enter:

/msg nickserv identify password

** If you don't identify after connecting your nick will be changed to something generic. **

About Groups:
You can group other nicknames with your first nick so they share the same configuration, memos, channel privileges, account password and email. For more information on this feature, see GROUP.
