WyldRyde TFlash Chat Offline

Yesterday, one or more individuals launched a large scale attack targeting Chris Pirillo's chat, #Chris. The attack has had little affect on Chris but it has severely affected WyldRyde.

Several WyldRyde servers and all the WyldRyde TFlash Chat Servers have been knocked offline. We are diligently working to mitigate the attack, stop the instability it is causing, and are trying to get all the servers, including the Flash Chat servers, back online as quickly as possible.

In the meantime you may still connect to WyldRyde using any IRC Client, most of which are free, and to find out which servers are currently online please see our Servers page.

While we understand that you may want to know more about the attacks and exactly what we're doing, our policy is that we don't discuss attacks and any action being taken so we don't jeopardize ongoing investigations. We're very confident that those responsible will be brought to justice.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of WyldRyde.

UPDATE:

  • Feb 15, 2008 10:43AM EDT (UTC-5): The Flash chat is back online and we're working on restoring more of our servers. The round robin irc.wyldryde.org is also available again.
