Symantec Releases AntiBot Software

Symantec has released new software specifically to target botnets.

Norton AntiBot provides real-time bot detection and removal, according to Symantec. Symantec also claims that Norton AntiBot monitors PC applications and processes around-the-clock, offering an additional layer of protection that complements existing security solutions to protect PCs from unauthorized access and tampering.

The program sells for about $29.99 in the US and is for Windows only. But they want you to run this in addition to Symantec anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, anti-rootkit, web browser protection, and a firewall. And we thought Symantec Internet Security alone was bloated! Don't fall for the FUD.

Save your money and buy a copy of NOD32 and turn on your Windows Firewall. It's all you need.
