Symantec broadly knocking IRC again

In an article posted on Symantec's web site yesterday, Yazan Gable claimed that Payment Service companies maybe profiting from identity theft and also made a connection to IRC by stating the "entire market" is thriving on IRC.

WyldRyde IRC Network has never permitted any "carder" channels and actively works with law enforcement to report any such illegal activities it discovers. Few IRC networks are involved in this trade or other illegal activities and to suggest otherwise is incorrect and irresponsible.

Big money is being made through buying and selling stolen credit card information. There’s an entire market thriving in shady chat rooms on public Internet relay chat (IRC) servers. Carders vie for the best deals, having to wade through the thousands of lines of advertisements. Large collections of credit card numbers, identities, credit card dumps, bank account credentials and online payment accounts are among the many things that are traded by the minute. But it isn’t only the carders who make money from the sale of this information.
