How To Pick Channel Moderators (Ops)

Keep these thoughts in mind before selecting others to be a channel operator.

Someone who is always requesting someone be kicked or banned or is verbally abusive would be a very poor choice!

Many people that request ops either want it for the wrong reasons; the status or power. They'll typically lack the personality or restraint that’s needed for the position.

Only Op people you know and trust. When you op somebody, you are potentially handing over control of the channel to them.

Its a good idea to evaluate possible ops by halfopping them manually every once in awhile. See how they handle situations and look for someone that can defuse a situation without making threats or reaching for "the stick."
