Virus Writer, Fyle/Anatoly Arrested!


Richard Honour aka Fyle, Anatoly, age 30, was indicted Feb. 23 by a Federal Grand Jury in St. Louis, Missouri on a felony count of transmitting Internet viruses and was arrested Tuesday in Seattle.

Honour allegedly developed worms that private messaged users on IRC Networks. Some of the messages were just an annoyance saying random phrases such as, "Cat penis." Others provided a link to malicious code which infected the user's computer and allegedly allowed Honour to gain unauthorized access to their compromised computer. Once in he allegedly obtained banking and other identity information.

Honour faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
