I queried/private messaged someone and they banned me! Why?

You may not query or message any user without asking their permission in the channel first.

Typically most people will warn you but some channel ops jump right to ignoring you setting a ban. These bans are typically removed in a few days so don't worry too much. Try the channel later on in the week and apologize in the channel to whoever you messaged.
