Secrets are bad

We realize many of you have set your channel secret (/mode #channelname +s) and have left it with this setting for sometime because of the spamming and flooding that was occurring.

Please be aware that the WyldRyde staff has been very aggressive and effective in eliminating all spammers and trojan bots from joining public channels. As you know we've also been very responsive in dealing with the flooders and we will continue to remain on guard and vigilant.

Because of all the actions we have taken we strongly feel that it is safe for every channel to remove +s and become public again.

If you keep your channel secret your channel cannot be indexed by SearchIRC and other IRC Search Engines. In addition other users on WyldRyde will be unable to find your channel. Because of these conditions this leads to a channel that will not grow. Channels that do not have new users joining them, quickly begin to shrink. No one likes to hang around a quiet and boring channel with always the same people and the same conversations.

Please Note: This is not an order or an official request that you must follow. I am just giving you some friendly advice that you may choose to ignore!

Thank you for choosing WyldRyde as the home to your channel!
